Deborah worked as an executive in seniors’ care for 11 years, during which she also became a resident’s family member three times—with her husband, mom, and dad. These dual perspectives inspired her mission to bring empathy and connection to the heart of seniors’ care.
In 2018, Deborah Bakti founded THINK Breakthrough Inc. to transform the relationships between residents’ families and care teams, from leadership to direct staff. Deborah created The Relational Approach™ System, a framework that empowers teams to build trust, foster collaboration, and deliver compassionate care.
Through consulting on move-in process redesign, staff training, and family education programs, Deborah helps homes create positive, sustainable outcomes. She is the author of two books for seniors’ care staff and families, host of The Empathy Exchange podcast, and will launch The Relational Approach podcast in 2025.
